Osaka School of International Public Policy (OSIPP) at Osaka University invites applications for professor (tenured), associate professor (tenure track/tenured), or assistant professor (tenure track) position. Candidates in all fields of economics can apply.

Osaka University is a leading research institution in Japan, it comprises of two departments (OSIPP and Economics Department) and a research institute (ISER), which publishes International Economic Review. In OSIPP, international students comprise more than 40% of the 150-student body and faculty covers multiple disciplines, economics, law, and politics.

Successful applicants would offer courses in econometrics or microeconomics, lecture in their specialization and provide theses supervision. They would be expected to begin on/after September 1, 2019 (negotiable).

Qualifications
1) Ph.D. degree: for assistant professor, date of Ph.D. must not be earlier than September 1, 2009. If still working on Ph.D., this must be earned by August 31, 2019.
2) Ability to teach courses in English, with preference given to those who can also teach in Japanese. Communication with staff members in Japanese is also expected.
3) For tenured positions, at least three refereed publications in peer-reviewed international journals is required, including one single-authored paper. For tenure-track positions, your JMP must demonstrate potential for publishing high-quality academic research.

Assistant and associate professor terms:
The tenure-track position is at most seven years (conditional on a review in third year), a final tenure review will be after five-and-a-half years. Teaching load until mid-term review is two courses (90 minutes * 15 * 2) per academic year for assistant professor and three courses (90 minutes * 15 * 3) for associate professor (to be discussed at interview).
