The Economics Department invites applications for the Admiral William Crowe Chair in Economics of the Defense Industrial Base beginning August, 2019. Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled. This is a visiting position available for up to two years (with the possibility of a third year). Length of appointment is determined by mutual agreement between the Naval Academy and the successful applicant. Candidates with a PhD in Economics are preferred, although exceptional candidates with experience or degrees in other related fields will be considered. Candidates should have an established publication record in industrial organization and/or defense economics or national security. A commitment to undergraduate teaching and to appropriate research on defense issues is expected. Candidates must be willing to teach a course focused on the economics of national defense. The teaching load would be no more than two sections per semester. Sections are small (10-20 students).
