The Economics Department invites applications for multiple tenure-track appointments at the Assistant or Associate Professor levels beginning August 2019. USNA is a military service academy and top tier undergraduate institution with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in faculty teaching and research. The Economics Department maintains a large majors program and offers a highly quantitative curriculum. Candidates should expect to contribute to teaching intermediate microeconomics, intermediate macroeconomics, and / or economic statistics and econometrics, as well as upper-level electives in their field of concentration. Candidates should have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, a robust research agenda, and a willingness to engage in service to the institution. Teaching load is typically three courses per semester with small section sizes (10-25 students and 2-3 preps per year). Candidates with a strong interest, demonstrated ability, and commitment to advising and mentoring students of diverse backgrounds are particularly encouraged to apply.
