The Institute of Quality Development Strategy (IQDS) and China Enterprise Survey and Data Center (CESDC) of Wuhan University is a research-oriented institution with both academic and professional focuses on the quality of China's economic development and transition. CESDC was established by IQDS, and is co-chaired by Dr. Hongbin Li (Stanford University) and Dr. Hong Cheng (Wuhan University).

As the core of CESDC, the China Employer-Employee Survey (CEES) was Jointly conducted by Dr. Hong Cheng (Wuhan University), Dr. Hongbin Li (Stanford University), Dr. Albert Park (Hong Kong University of Science and Technology), Dr. Yang Du (Chinese Academy of Social Sciences). It is by far the world's largest on-site employer-employee matched investigation ever been built in major developing economies, and it provides primary, world-class data resource to students and scholars who are working at IQDS.

The scholars in IQDS are regularly collaborating with well-known researchers from Stanford University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Waseda University, etc. These researchers are, in addition to Dr. Hongbin Li and Dr. Albert Park, namely, Dr. Nicholas Bloom (Stanford University), Dr. Takeo Hoshi (University of California, Berkeley). With the collaboration, IQDS has published research papers in top-notch academic periodicals including Journal of Economic Perspective, Economic Development and Cultural Change, Economic Research Journal, Management World, etc.

Selected candidates will be interviewed at the AEA annual conference in Atlanta on 4-6 January 2019.

Application Requirements:
1. PhD in Economics or equivalent (must be awarded before June, 2019)
2. Demonstrate the potential or ability to actively publish in premier scholarly Economics journals
3. Preferred fields: Applied Econometrics; Labor Economics (human capital investment, wage, labor skills, inequality etc); Development Economics (institutional economics, innovation, economic transition of China, etc)
