Clinical Assistant Professor in Economics

Liberal Studies at New York University invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor position in Economics to begin September 1, 2019, pending administrative and budgetary approval.
 
Liberal Studies provides a unique interdisciplinary educational experience to undergraduate students. The Liberal Studies Core consists of a two-year interdisciplinary global curriculum drawing on great works across civilizations. The Global Liberal Studies Bachelor of Arts, one of NYU’s premier liberal arts degrees, builds on the global core with an upper division interdisciplinary set of concentrations that direct students toward different areas of global study.
 
We seek applicants for the following position:
 
Economics
 
PhD in Economics. Candidates conversant with contrasting paradigms in international development and political economy are particularly welcome. Candidates should have the ability to teach Principles of Macroeconomics and Principles of Microeconomics, as well as upper-division seminars in their areas of expertise.
 
Minimum qualifications: a Ph.D. by the date of appointment; three years of college-level teaching experience; and demonstrated excellence in teaching.  Publications and evidence of outstanding scholarship and relevant professional activity are strongly encouraged.
 
All Liberal Studies full-time faculty hold renewable term contracts, initially three years, and later five years in duration. Faculty are eligible for promotion within the Clinical faculty ranks (Associate, Full). Faculty normally teach three classes per semester, advise undergraduates, and contribute service to Liberal Studies and to the University.
