The Department of Economics and Business at Southwestern University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Economics position beginning August 2019. Our highest priority is for candidates with a desire to teach corporate finance and who are interested in supporting our Financial Analyst Program, where students actively manage a portion of the university’s portfolio, and our new major in Financial Economics. The ability to teach Intermediate Macroeconomics is also critical. Our program aims to develop skills in data analysis and, therefore, applicants should be comfortable with econometric methods and interested in working with students on empirical projects as part of independent studies, capstone projects, and honors work. Candidates are also encouraged to demonstrate their experience or interest in connecting their research and teaching to other disciplines or to our interdisciplinary programs.
