The Department of Economics seeks scholars/teachers for a tenure track appointment at the assistant professor level for Fall 2019. Rhodes College is especially interested in attracting candidates from historically underrepresented groups and/or those with demonstrated commitment to working with diverse and historically underrepresented populations. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Economics or expect to complete the degree by July 2019. Teaching load is 3-2, including contributions to the Program in Political Economy. Strong preference will be given to candidates with a field in Economic History. Candidates must be willing and able to teach a History of Economic Thought course with an emphasis on Adam Smith. Candidates should demonstrate strong research potential, as well as a commitment to excellent teaching and mentoring in a liberal arts setting. Interviews will take place at the 2019 ASSA Meetings in Atlanta.
