The Department of Economics at Furman University invites applications for a three-year visiting position at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank, to begin August 1, 2019. We encourage applications from candidates in any field of economics who demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching in a liberal arts environment. In addition to teaching courses in their areas of expertise, all department members contribute to the teaching of some core courses in economics (principles, statistics, econometrics, intermediate theory, and/or senior seminar). We are interested in hiring faculty members with diverse perspectives who will foster innovation in our curriculum and provide a rich and varied educational experience for our students. The teaching responsibility is five courses per academic year. Visiting faculty members are eligible for funding to support professional development opportunities including conference travel.
