Economist (Young Professionals Program)

The World Bank’s Young Professionals Program (YPP) recruits development experts in a variety of fields. For the first time, the World Bank will be interviewing economist candidates for the YPP at the American Economics Association meetings. Please submit a CV, job market paper, and three academic references via the JOE online application system by November 15, 2018. Those who have applied through the regular YPP process earlier this year should not apply again through the JOE online application system.

We are interested in attracting candidates with research interests in all areas of economics relevant to development, including macroeconomics, public finance, international economics, trade, finance, applied microeconomics, poverty and inequality, rural and agricultural economics, urban economics, and natural resource and environmental economics. YPP economists would be hired into one of the World Bank’s Global Practices. (For a full list of the Global Practices, please consult http://www.worldbank.org/en/about/unit.)

A team of World bank economists will interview selected candidates at the ASSA Meetings in Atlanta on January 4-6. We expect to make our offers by the first week of February.
