It has partnered with CEHD of the University of Chicago through the establishment of the Chicago-Jinan Joint Initiative, co-directed by Dean and Professor Shuaizhang Feng, and the 2000 Nobel laureate, Professor James Heckman. The Center for Econometrics and Microdata Practice was established for the purpose of promoting a close integration of microeconomic theory and econometric methodology, and is led by Professor Yingyao Hu from Johns Hopkins University. The Research Center for International Trade and Firms is led by Professor Daniel Yi Xu from Duke University, and has been at the forefront of scholarly and policy-oriented research in the area of international trade and firm development. All centers comply with the IESR regulations for tenure and promotion.

Over the next ten years, IESR will continue to expand its regular faculty by recruiting new PhDs and senior scholars from overseas, as well as by hiring short-term visiting distinguished professors from world-renowned institutions.

Applicants for all ranks are welcome. Candidates for the assistant professor should have a Ph.D. in hand or firmly expected by August 2019. Candidates at the rank of associate or above must have demonstrated excellence in research and teaching.
