Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) is located in a historical but affordable city of Chengdu, China. It is one of the best universities and the largest university specializing in finance, economics, accounting and statistics in China directly under the State Ministry of Education, with more than 20,000 full-time student enrollments. SWUFE offers various graduate and undergraduate programs covering, but not limited to, finance, accounting, economics and statistics. School of Statistics is one of the most influential schools in SWUFE with 5 departments including Department of Statistics, Department of Economic Statistics, Department of Data Science, Department of Management Science, and Institute of Quantitative Economics. The main research and teaching group of econometrics is inside Institute of Quantitative Economics, School of Statistics, which is an influential research team in econometrics in China and in charge of different level of econometrics courses all over the university.

In recent years, the School of Statistics at SWUFE has attracted more than 15 young Ph.D. to join, from Georgia State University, Iowa State University, Imperial College London, National University of Singapore, Tilburg University, Hong Kong University, Florida University and other overseas universities well-known. To further strengthen the developmental capabilities in statistics and econometrics, the school is recruiting new faculty members. PhD graduates from statistics, econometrics and other related directions are highly in demand. The majors and concentrations in demand include but not limit to: Statistics with concentrations macroeconomic statistics, financial statistics, business statistics, mathematical statistics; Econometrics with concentrations financial econometrics, econometrics theory and application; Economic big data; Management Science and Engineering.
