The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) seeks a Senior Researcher and Leader to provide intellectual and managerial leadership for its South Asia Region Office based in New Delhi, India. The Director for South Asia will report to the Director General and serves on the Senior Management Team (SMT) of the Institute. This is a 3-year exempt position, fixed-term, renewable appointment based in New Delhi, India.
IFPRI (www.ifpri.org) develops sustainable solutions for ending hunger, malnutrition and poverty in the developing world. It carries out research, capacity strengthening, and policy communications to develop those solutions and to catalyze policy action.
Essential Duties:
• Lead overall IFPRI’s research, capacity building and communication activities in the South Asia region
• Supervise the work of the research staff and provide professional mentoring for the regional Office
• Mobilize financial resources to support research, capacity building and communication for the region

Required Qualifications:
PhD degree with 12 years of experience in relevant field
