The Department of Economics and Geosciences at the United States Air Force Academy anticipates filling one or two Assistant Professor of Economics positions and one Instructor of Economics position beginning approximately June 24, 2019. Responsibilities include: teaching some combination of intermediate macroeconomics, international economics, other upper-division undergraduate economics electives, and introductory economics; academic advising; serving as a faculty mentor for undergraduate capstone research projects; serving on departmental and Academy committees; and maintaining a record of research commensurate with academic rank. Candidates applying for the position of Assistant Professor must have an earned Ph.D. in economics or letter of completion by June 24, 2019. Candidates applying for the position of instructor of economics must hold a master’s degree in economics.

The United States Air Force Academy, located just north of Colorado Springs, Colorado, awards the Bachelor of Science degree as part of its mission to educate, train, and inspire men and women to become officers of character, motivated to lead the United States Air Force in service to our nation. The initial appointment is for three years. Successive reappointments of up to four years will be based upon an assessment of performance, Air Force and departmental needs, and funding availability. The Academy faculty is an integrated group of military and civilian educators, with a record of offering continuing appointments to civilian faculty after demonstrated excellence in the initial three-year appointment.
