IMPAQ International, a rapidly growing and dynamic social policy research firm will be interviewing candidates at the 2019 ASSA/AEA Annual Meeting for the following positions:

• Research Associate/Economist (recent and soon-to-be graduates); and
• Senior Research Associate/Economist 10+ years of relevant work experience).

IMPAQ’s mission is to create enduring solutions to global problems through rigorous approaches and innovative thinking. Our primary markets are health, workforce development, social programs, education, and international development. Services include research, evaluations, implementation support, advanced analytics, information technology, surveys and data collection, and communications solutions. Some examples of our work include:

• Researching and supporting innovative delivery and financing approaches intended to improve quality of care,
patient satisfaction, and health care efficiency.
• Developing consumer transparency tools such as a cost calculator that enables people with chronic conditions to
determine out-of-pocket expenses when purchasing insurance.
• Researching the national landscape of apprenticeships and helping expand effective programs.
• Monitoring and evaluating (M&E) international programs that combat child labor, improve children’s literacy,
strengthen democracy, increase access to water and sanitation, and build M&E capacity.

Required Qualifications:

• Ph.D. (or other advanced degree) in economics, public policy, or a related social science field;
• Strong quantitative and qualitative skills;
• Experience conducting mixed-methods evaluation;
• Experience and knowledge of experimental and quasi-experimental design;
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical material orally and in writing to non-academic audiences;
and
• Previous internship or work experience conducting applied policy related research for Federal or state
agencies, although not required will be heavily weighted.
