Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Department of Economics, Lund University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Economics. Lund University is one of the largest universities in Scandinavia and the Department of Economics is a well-established research and teaching institution with a full-scale postgraduate program. Lund is an old attractive university town 10 minutes from Malmö and 40 minutes from Copenhagen.

We wish to fill the position no later than September 2019, although there is room for some flexibility. The position is a six year tenure-track and comes with a low teaching load and a competitive salary package. Decision on tenure is taken during the fifth year. Salary takes the form of a tax-exempt scholarship and a part-time taxed employment. The net monthly pay roughly equals SEK 40 000. In addition to this there will be some annual funds for expenses and insurances.

The position is open for applicants with a recent PhD, or be close to finishing their thesis, in economics or finance. Applicants with a PhD from outside Sweden are especially welcome to apply. Research potential is our key selection criterion for the advertised position. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out research suitable for publication in leading or highly ranked field and general economics journals.

Shortlisted candidates will primarily be interviewed at the EEA job market in Naples in December or at the ASSA Atlanta meeting in January 2019. Applicants should indicate which meeting they will attend.

Deadline for the application is November 4 for the European job market in Naples and November 25 for the American job market in Atlanta. Interested candidates should email their applications to application@nek.lu.se

The application should include a detailed CV with a list of publications and working papers, one job market paper, and a cover letter describing your future research plans. An additional publication/working paper may be included in the application, but it should be made clear which paper is considered to have most merit. Two letters of recommendations should be sent directly by the referees to application@nek.lu.se
