The Division of Consumer and Community Affairs (DCCA) at the Federal Reserve Board is seeking a Ph.D. Economist to conduct research aimed at improving economic outcomes of consumers and communities. Responsibilities may include developing, maintaining, and interpreting relevant economic data and supporting the Board's regulatory and compliance function in consumer financial services. An understanding of housing markets or housing finance is desired, but any expertise related to low- and moderate-income communities and individuals would be valued. Relevant research areas include access and cost of housing, consumer finance, economic geography, and racial/ethnic, gender, rural, or other economic disparities. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to prepare research papers that may be presented to the Board and its staff, at outside conferences, and in journals.

Economists for this position must have already completed their Ph.D. degree. Candidates with significant expertise and relevant work experience may be considered for Senior Economist or Principal Economist.
