Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Social Entrepreneurship (Ref.: 201801198)

Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Social Entrepreneurship in the Faculty of Social Sciences (as tenure home) and Faculty of Business and Economics, to commence in 2019 summer or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Social Work, Social Policy, Business, Social Entrepreneurship or a related field, with a track record of teaching and research in Social Entrepreneurship, Social Innovation, and Social Policy. The appointee will be responsible for teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and is expected to be active in researching the multifaceted relationship between social entrepreneurship and social welfare and how to translate the findings into social entrepreneurship practice and social policy intervention to improve the well-being of disadvantaged populations. He/She will also contribute to research and teaching on social entrepreneurship and social innovation in both Faculties.

A globally competitive remuneration package commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
