The Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at NC State University seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor of Microeconomics with a focal area in horticultural and/or specialty crops to develop outstanding research and Extension programsrelated to the economics of horticultural crops production and marketing. Potential research areas may include, but are not limited to, production economics; energy and water use; postharvest loss; marketing and trade; sustainable production practices; contracting and risk management; and labor management.

The successful candidate for this position will be expected to develop an outstanding record of scholarly research that will include participation in interdisciplinary research and extramurally funded research projects; mentor graduate students; and teach one course per year. An outstanding applied research program that supports the development of a robust Extension program through our 101 county Extension offices and agents as well as horticultural crop stakeholders is expected.
