The Tulane University Economics Department and Education Research Alliance for New Orleans invite applications for a postdoctoral position in the Economics of Education to begin in fall 2018. The successful candidate will conduct and publish original research related to one or both of the following ongoing projects: (a) randomized trials of financial aid and other college access programs; and (b) the market-based school reforms put in place in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

In partnership with Tulane’s Murphy Institute of Political Economy, we invite applications from candidates who will receive a Ph.D. in economics or public policy by fall 2018. In addition to carrying out research on the above topics, the successful candidate will teach one course at the undergraduate level annually and is expected to participate actively in research, seminars and other activities at the Economics Department and the Murphy Institute. One-third of the successful candidate’s time will focus on studies co-authored with other research team members involving the above topics and one-third is available for other research of the candidate’s choosing. The remaining third will involve either teaching or other research-related activities as requested. This appointment is for two years.

Qualifications:
Ph.D. in economics or public policy (by fall 2018) and demonstrated interest in policies related to school reform and/or college access, broadly defined.
