The Harris School of Public Policy of the University of Chicago, together with the Consortium on School Research in the Urban Education Institute, invites applications for an appointment as a Senior Research Associate. The UChicago Consortium is a research-practice partnership (RPP) that investigates how programs and policies are working in the Chicago Public Schools. The SRA will conduct original research consistent with the Consortium model, applying rigorous methods to answer questions of policy and practice in collaboration with educational stakeholders. The candidate will also provide guidance to other researchers at the Consortium on how to work with policymakers at both the local and national levels.

Candidates must have a doctorate in a social science discipline or statistics, and evidence of expertise and impact in educational research through at least 10 publications (books, articles, reports or book chapters) that have been cited by other scholars. Candidates must have worked with policymakers both in a local district and in the federal government. They should show evidence that they have established a national reputation as an expert in K-12 educational research, for example, through invitations to present their work at national meetings.
