At the nonprofit Urban Institute, we believe in the power of evidence to improve lives and strengthen communities. Our employees are empowered to open minds, shape decisions and offer solutions. The Health Policy Center analyzes trends and underlying causes of changes in health insurance coverage, access to care, and use of health care services by the entire U.S. population. The center focuses on Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance markets and health care reform. Researchers responsibilities include development of research approach, data analysis in SAS and/or STATA, reporting research findings in writing and orally to a variety of audiences.

Qualifications include a combination of the quantitative, analytical, and writing skills, relevant substantive knowledge, and social policy research experience needed to perform the duties described above, or the academic knowledge of and research experience in a discipline that is generally associated with the attainment of the Ph.D. Experience using STATA/SAS to manipulate data as well as strong presentation, written and oral communication skills and prior proposal and or grant writing experience preferred.
