The National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) is a leading center for advanced data-intensive computing and is located at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. In collaboration with the Department of Agricultural and Consumer Economics, Department of Economics, the College of Business, the NCSA is developing a strong program in Data Science in Applied Microeconomics through faculty-led research teams. A number of ongoing collaborations utilize NCSA technologies/expertise to advance research in environmental and energy economics, health economics, development economics, econometrics and machine learning, and finance. Data agreements and active research partnerships include Zillow, Uber, Corelogic, Mastercard, the NBER, and the NIH.

Under the guidance of Assistant Professor Peter Christensen, the University of Illinois is excited to offer a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship that focuses on Data Science in Applied Microeconomics. The 12/12, 100% postdoctoral researcher appointment will last for up to two years.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis beginning 12/15/2017 with a first round of interviews taking place at the ASSA meetings in Philadelphia.
