Houzz is seeking an Economist to join our Economic research team. With over 40M monthly unique users, 1.5 million active professionals, and 2M products, Houzz is the leading online platform for home remodeling and design. If you are creative and curious, have a knack for unearthing trends and insights from datasets large or small, and love telling stories through data, we want to hear from you.

In this role, you will conduct economic research and create data products for a broad audience of homeowners, business groups, and media. You will work in an informal, collaborative atmosphere directly with the Principal Economist and researchers from various disciplines at Houzz.

Responsibilities:
-Apply economic theory, econometric and data analysis methods to inform issues and trends
-Leverage massive and unprecedented proprietary datasets for analysis, modeling and visualizations
-Guide data collection efforts and identify opportunities for new data generation
-Create topical narratives, reports and white papers
-Develop and manage academic and other collaborations

Qualifications:
-PhD in economics or other quantitative field; industry experience is a big plus
-Knowledge of econometrics and multivariate statistics
-Advanced R, SQL, and/or Python skills; expert-level Excel and/or Tableau skills are a big plus
-Demonstrated research ability, from conceptualization to execution
