Valuation, Disputes and Arbitration

We have significant expertise in the valuation of businesses, intellectual property, financial products and other assets. We regularly provide expert evidence on valuation issues and the quantification of economic losses before courts and tribunals worldwide in a wide range of dispute.

We also provide valuation services for commercial, reporting and regulatory purposes, for example, in the context of licensing, investment appraisal, fiscal valuation and transfer pricing.

Economic Regulation

Our team of economists, econometricians, and regulatory accountants has extensive experience across all the regulated sectors, including energy, telecommunications, transport, water and healthcare. The team has been responsible for the delivery of regulatory solutions in these sectors across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

We apply economic theory in a highly practical way to offer economic advice to both regulators and regulated companies on a wide range of issues, including:

- regulatory framework and tariff design;
- cost efficiency analysis and benchmarking; and

About this role:

We are currently seeking full-time economist and econometrician candidates for our Boston, MA office. Ideal candidates possess (or are expecting) a PhD with a concentration in economics or a related field. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong background in game theory, behavioral economics, and computational economics. Strong analytical and quantitative skills are essential. Economists are involved in all phases of case work including:

- Identifying key economic and financial issues
- Assisting with the formulation of project strategy
- Applying academic research to client issues
- Formulating economic and financial models
- Developing and implementing computational and simulation models
- Performing quantitative and qualitative research
- Working with datasets and programming in statistical software such as SAS, STATA, or MatLab
- Collaborating on project teams
- Managing aspects of projects, including supervising and advising junior staff
- Assisting senior staff or academic experts
- Meeting with clients to present concise explanations of complex analyses
