The Department of Economics at the University of Calgary invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Econometrics with an anticipated start date of July 1st, 2018.

We are seeking a scholar who will establish and maintain an active research program in econometrics or applied micro-econometrics, with the ability to secure external research funding. The successful applicant is expected to conduct high-quality research, participate in teaching, and play an active role in supervising students. Service to the department, faculty, University, and community is also expected.

The successful applicant will have, or be expected to soon have, a PhD in economics and must demonstrate evidence or potential for publication in high-quality peer-reviewed journals. Evidence of publication success can be provided through a sample of current research and a statement of research interests, demonstrating currency in the field and outlining future research directions. Evidence of excellence in teaching may be demonstrated by a statement of teaching philosophy and teaching evaluations.

The Department of Economics is a research-intensive department with high standards in research and teaching. Interviews will be held at the Canadian Economics Employment Exchange in Toronto (December 2017) and the ASSA meeting in Philadelphia (January 2018). Cover letters should indicate if applicants will be attending these meetings. Those unable to attend these events will be considered and, if warranted, interviews scheduled through alternative means.
