The Center for Econometrics and Microdata Practice (CEMP) has 10 open rank, tenure-track or tenured, faculty positions to fill in the fields of micro-econometrics and applied microeconomics.


CEMP develops and applies methods for modeling behavior of individual economic agents, such as consumers and firms, and the impact of relevant policy interventions. We focus on the development of application-oriented micro-econometric methods and the introduction of state-of-the-art quantitative technologies to applied microeconomic research. CEMP promotes interdisciplinary research among the fields of econometrics, applied microeconomics, statistics, computer sciences, and other social sciences.


CEMP maintains an extensive network of fellows at home and abroad. It intends to become a leading research institute in the field of micro-econometrics in China. CEMP is inside the Institute for Economic and Social Research (IESR) at Jinan University.


The medium of instruction is English. New faculty can expect no teaching in the first year, and up to one course in the second year.
