The Department of Spatial Economics, at the School of Business and Economics of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, hosts a large community of regional, urban, transport and environmental economists. The department is active in various BSc and MSc teaching programmes. It has a strong research tradition, manifested in strong publication records of its members and in success in acquiring external research funds. The Associate is expected to make strong contributions to the Department’s teaching and research activities.
Tasks
• Initiate and perform high-quality research in urban and regional economics, or related areas;
• Active involvement in acquiring new research grants;
• Teach and coordinate bachelor and/or master courses;
• Supervision of theses;
• Contribution to management;
• To have or obtain a university teaching qualification.
Requirements
Candidates with a strong research interest and record in spatial economics, excellent teaching abilities, advanced methodological skills, and a clear motivation to contribute to the department’s societal valorization strategy. Salary
The salary will be in accordance with university regulations, and depending on experience, ranges from € 4.815,- to € 5.861,-, based on full-time employment. In addition, we offer holiday allowance, end-of-year allowance, and other benefits (www.workingatvu.nl).
