The Department of Economics at the University of Winnipeg invites applications for one probationary tenure track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. Subject to budgetary approval, the expected start date is July 1, 2018, though some flexibility may be possible. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

We are interested in applicants with a PhD in Economics with a specialization in Finance or a PhD in Finance. The Department is particularly interested in candidates with teaching and/or research interests in computational finance. Applicants should have a PhD or be in the final stages of their dissertation. Candidates are expected to show evidence of the potential for high quality research and effective teaching.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in corporate finance, investments and options, futures and derivatives to students who major in Economics or Business. In addition, the candidate will also be expected to teach a range of undergraduate courses in Economics. The successful candidate will assist in the development of the Economics and Finance program (EFIN), a joint program between the Departments of Business and Economics.
