Jinhe Center for Economic Research (JCER) was founded in 1997 by two American educated economists (Yusen Kwoh, Chicago, MA, 1978; Chuntien Hu, Princeton, PhD, 1986) at Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) in China. The center offers B.A, M.A., and PhD degrees in economics with modern curriculum and teaching materials. Existing faculties consist of 14 faculty and over 30 visiting professors abroad, most of them have PhD degrees in economics from famouse universities in the world. We have current enrollment of about 250 full-time students, including undergraduate, master, and doctoral candidates, with active academic communication such as regular workshops and seminars full of liberal democratic atmosphere.

XJTU started to build a 4500-acre new campus,named as Western China Science and Technology Innovation Harbor in 2015, supported by the central government and Shaanxi province. Therefore,JCER is planning to hire 10-15 new faculty members from abroad over the next two years in an effort to bolster expanding programs. Faculty positions available at all levels. To support the national "One Belt One Road" stratege,2-year's master program in Economics for foreign students is just opened in JCER in 2017. English speakers are welcome, too.

As one of the national key universities with over 120 year history, XJTU is traditionally ranked as top 10 in China. XJTU launched the “University Alliance of the New Silk Road” (UANSR) in 2016 to establish cooperative world-wide education platforms in the future.

Additionally, Xi’an is the largest industrial and educational hub in North-western China. It is a major tourist destination of the world and designated as the “City of History” by UNESCO. This sophisticated ancient capital is a perfect place for academics and education.

Responsibilities and Requirements:
•PhD degree required.
•Teaching load of 3 courses (approximately 9 credits) each year, teaching can be conducted in English or Chinese.
•Research and publication.
•Advising PhD, Master and undergraduate students.

Compensation and Benefits:
•Contract for 6 years.
•International competitive salary commensurate with qualifications.
•Housing subsidies.
