The program in Economics of Education at Teachers College, Columbia University (TC) seeks to hire an Associate or Full Professor with expertise in the Economics of Education. We are seeking a nationally-recognized scholar to join our engaging academic and professional environment, in a world-class university with outstanding faculty and students. While research focus is flexible, we are particularly interested in scholars whose work examines issues of economic, racial, and/or gender inequality in the context of education.

This consortium sponsors a weekly economics of education seminar, hosted by TC and featuring nationally-recognized scholars from around the country. In addition, our location in New York City offers rich research and data opportunities for scholars interested in urban education issues (both at the K-12 and postsecondary level) as well as international education (our student population comes from all over the world).

Qualifications: Earned doctorate in economics or public policy, or a related field with a demonstrated concentration in economics; strong record of academic publication on education-related topics; history of external research support. Demonstrated interest and/or involvement in education policy, ability to communicate across disciplinary boundaries and outside academe, experience working with students from a wide range of backgrounds, and a demonstrated commitment to broadening diversity within the field will also be considered in the review process.

Responsibilities: Maintain an active research and publications profile; policy work and public engagement are also encouraged. Teach graduate courses in economics of education. Advise masters and doctoral students, and participate in program administration and leadership activities. Work collegially with students and faculty from both EPSA and the CCEE to build upon common research and intellectual interests.
