The University of Michigan School of Information (UMSI) invites applicants for the U-M President's Postdoctoral Fellowship Program (PPFP) (http://presidentspostdoc.umich.edu/index.php#). “The University seeks applicants whose research, teaching, and service will contribute to diversity and equal opportunity in higher education. The program is particularly interested in scholars with the potential to bring to their research and undergraduate teaching the critical perspective that comes from their non-traditional educational background or understanding of the experiences of groups historically underrepresented in higher education."
The successful candidate engages in research interests that complement our faculty expertise in such areas as computer-supported cooperative work; incentive-centered design; Internet-scale data, network and text analysis; digital curation; community informatics; social computing; information seeking, sharing and use; and health informatics. We are especially interested in qualified applicants whose research addresses important social problems, opportunities, and questions in these areas.
Required Qualifications:
● Ph.D. in an area such as information, computer science, engineering, communication, or related fields
● Excellent written and oral communication skills
● Evidence of successful classroom teaching experience (as a student or professional)
● A strong commitment to interdisciplinary research and cultural diversity
● Ability to travel to attend/present at conferences and/or research meetings
