The Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta anticipates hiring up to two Ph.D. research economists at the assistant or associate level. Candidates with less than five years of experience are preferred, but the department will consider other more experienced candidates. The department is particularly interested in individuals who have strong modeling and empirical skills with research interests in empirical macroeconomics, international economics, macro finance and applied microeconomics. The position’s primary responsibilities are to conduct high-quality research for publication in leading academic journals and contribute to the department’s research and policy missions.

The Department maintains an excellent research environment, provides substantial research support, and houses several research centers including the Center for Quantitative Economic Research, the Center for Financial Innovation and Stability, and the Center for Human Capital Studies. The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta is also the site of the Atlanta Research Data Center which provides restricted access to non-publicly available Census data. Salary and benefits are competitive.
