The Weatherhead Research Cluster on Global Populism at Harvard University seeks to foster research on populism from diverse disciplinary perspectives. Bringing together faculty, graduate students, and fellows, the Cluster examines both the determinants of the rise of populist movements and its consequences.

The Global Populism Fellow is appointed for one academic year (approximately August 2018- May 2019) and is provided time, guidance, office space, and access to Harvard University facilities. The Fellow should be prepared to devote his/her entire time to productive scholarship on topics closely related to the Cluster’s core research themes. The Fellow may be asked to assist in organizing workshops or conferences for the Research Cluster.

The competition for these awards is open only to scholars with a PhD received no later than June 2018. While preference will be given to scholars in earlier stages of their careers, all qualified candidates will be considered, regardless of year of degree. The fellowship is residential and Fellows are expected to live in the Cambridge/Boston area for the duration of their appointments unless traveling for research purposes for short periods of time. They are also expected to participate in activities of the Research Cluster on Global Populism.
