New College of Florida invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor position with a specialization in Environmental Economics. The candidate must have completed the Ph.D. by time of appointment in Fall, 2018. Candidates will be expected to offer at least one course each semester to support the environmental studies program (ESP). Such courses might include Environmental Economics, Natural Resource Economics, and Ecological Economics. Candidates can offer other courses in support of the economics program, especially Introductory Econometrics. Knowledge of GIS would be an asset, as well as research focusing on Florida’s specific environmental issues. Candidates with cross-disciplinary training and/or experience with interdisciplinary working groups are welcomed.

Search committee members will conduct preliminary interviews at the AEA meetings in January 2018. Strong candidates who cannot attend the AEA meetings can be interviewed via Skype prior to final interviews on campus.

Teaching and Scholarship Expectations: The teaching load is two courses per semester plus sponsoring individual and group tutorials. In addition to classes and tutorials, faculty members provide academic advising, supervise independent study projects, sponsor senior undergraduate theses/projects, and serve on baccalaureate committees. The successful candidate is expected to establish and maintain a program of research.
