Based on the best international standards and transparent performance criteria, Guangzhou University offers a merit-based academic career option for Tenure-Track faculty to Full Professor. Appointments for Assistant Professor (or Lecturer) and Associate Professor will normally have up to a six-year probation period and may later lead to tenure-track appointment subject to satisfactory performance.

Guangzhou University offers successful candidates a start-up research fund and performance-based salary along with additional social benefits,which will be commensurate with qualifications and career achievements, and competitive with international norms. E.g. a range of the annual salary at Assistant Professor (or Lecturer) level is equivalent to US$40,000 - US$80,000.The University also gives assistance for relocation and integration of their partners and accompanying family members.
