The Global Economic Outlook group, part of the Strategy and Market Analysis Department at Saudi Aramco is looking for qualified candidates to join its growing economic team, based in Dhahran (Saudi Arabia).

Saudi Aramco is a world renowned energy company, with a vast portfolio spanning oil, gas, refining, petrochemicals, shipping and marketing. The company of 60k employees has offices and assets in Asia, Europe and the US.

Job Description:
Develop analysis and reports on the global macro economy, with a special focus on issues of relevance to energy markets. Apply skills in research design and econometric methods to enhance the overall understanding of the economic business environment, and to offer high level insights and options to corporate management to aid their decision making under uncertainty. Communicate analysis and insights with stakeholders across large and multidisciplinary teams. Identify strategic business opportunities that result from changing policies, emerging economic trends, or shifting consumer preferences.

Requirements:
PhD in Economics by September 2018 or earlier
Strong background in statistics and econometric methods, with applications to business problems.
Experience in statistical packages and software (Stata, R, etc...)
Experience with programming for the purpose of solving optimization problems (Matlab, Julia, Python, etc...)
Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment.
Strong research track record.
Effective verbal and written communications skills.
