The Center for the Advancement of Data and Research in Economics (CADRE) at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow to work as a microdata management and measurement specialist. The position is for 2 years commencing on or soon after August 22, 2018.

The position is ideal for researchers interested developing or maintaining subject matter expertise in the management and usage of large microdata sets for economic research. The Fellow will work with data scientists and other content curators focused on research to improve understanding of measurements and metrics, data usage and limitations, and/or computationally intensive economic estimation. The successful candidate should have familiarity and experience in working with large microdata, especially data used by social scientists like the Current Population Survey (CPS) or Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP) as well as one or more of the following approaches or techniques: statistical analysis of time series and/or micro data, machine learning or predictive analytics algorithms, data and content organization and curation. Familiarity with quantitative economics research methods, especially involving data management and reproducibility of research are a plus.
