The Department of Economics seeks to appoint up to two new staff members at the level of Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, or Associate Professor. While we welcome applications from candidates working in any area of economics, we would be especially interested in candidates working in open economy macroeconomics, international trade, as well as monetary and financial history.

Successful candidates will be expected to teach under-graduate and post-graduate courses and also supervise research students. They must demonstrate a willingness to engage with colleagues and to actively compete for external research grants.

The Department has a strong research culture and is a leading research institution in Australasia. It has comprehensive under-graduate and post-graduate teaching programmes. Continuation (tenure) depends on satisfactory performance across research, teaching and service.

Applications should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, one or more research papers, teaching evaluations and three letters of reference. These positions will be vacant until filled and so applicants are strongly encouraged to apply before December 1, 2017.

Preliminary interviews will be held at the ASSA meetings in Philadelphia, 5-8 January 2018. Alternative arrangements will be made for short-listed candidates who are not planning to attend the conference.
