The Department invites applications for professoriate posts in the following fields: (i) Macroeconomics (E); (ii) Financial Economics (G); (iii) Labor/Health Economics (J/I1); and (iv) Chinese Economy/Development (O1). Outstanding candidates in other fields may also apply.

Applicants should have a relevant PhD degree (by the time reporting for duty). For Professorship/ Associate Professorship, applicants should have established a track record of publications in major economics journals. The appointee will (a) teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses according to his/her area of expertise; (b) supervise postgraduate students on their research; (c) pursue academic research and publications; (d) apply for external research grants; and (e) assist in administrative work in the Department.

Appointments will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years initially commencing August 2018, which, subject to mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation later.
