The Institute for Economic and Social Research (IESR) at Jinan University warmly invites applications for tenure-track positions in all fields of economics, including labor, health, urban, econometrics, IO, trade, development, macroeconomics, or finance.

IESR is dedicated to building a world-renowned research program and think tank in applied economics with a focus on the Chinese economy and society. Its Survey Data Center specializes in the collection, synthesis and analysis of micro-level data. IESR operates under the leadership of internationally renowned scholars with Professor James Heckman as the chairman of its advisory board.

We are running a major hiring initiative. Applicants for all ranks are welcome. Candidates for the assistant professor should have a Ph.D. in hand or firmly expected by August 2018. Candidates at the rank of associate or above must have demonstrated excellence in research and teaching.

The medium of instruction is English. New faculty can expect no teaching in their first year.
