Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Department of Economics is seeking to hire a person with strong public policy interests in one or more of the following areas: Monetary Policy, Central Banking, Supply of Money and Credit, Macroeconomic Policy, Aspects of Public Finance, Public Economics, Health, Education,Welfare, Labor Economics, Industrial Organization, Economic Growth, or Aggregate Productivity. This is a tenured position in the Department of Economics at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The person in this position would also be affiliated with the Private Enterprise Research Center (PERC) at Texas A&M University, a long-established research center whose mission is to provide economic analysis of important policy issues. PERC actively supports academic research and market oriented solutions to public policy questions (see http://perc.tamu.edu/perc/center.htm for more information on PERC).

The position required a Ph.D. in economics or a related field. Candidates for appointment at the Associate Professor rank must have established a record of high quality published research and should demonstrate an interest in advising doctoral students. In addition to a distinguished record of high quality published research, candidates for the Full Professor position should, where relevant, have a demonstrated record of success in advising doctoral students.

All appointees are expected to be committed to teaching and research of the highest quality. In addition to publishing in leading journals, the successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses and supervise graduate students. The successful candidate will be engaged in research, teaching and outreach related to PERC's mission and will be expected to share their research through seminars and PERC's working paper series.
