The Defense Resources Management Institute (DRMI) at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) is accepting applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions in Decision Analysis, Defense Economics, Labor Economics, Public Economics, Public Administration, Defense Resources Management, Operations Research, or a Related Field, at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. DRMI offers graduate-level, team-taught, interdisciplinary executive management programs in defense resources management and analytical decision making for military officers of all services, senior civilian officials of the United States, and participants from over 160 countries. Applicants with a Ph.D. and relevant experience are encouraged to apply. Prior experience working in or with the Department of Defense (DoD) is preferred, and prior DoD related research and/or instruction is strongly preferred.

DRMI faculty strongly emphasize teaching and are actively engaged in research. The successful candidate will demonstrate high-quality teaching experience and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Candidates for Associate rank are expected to have a successful research program as demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed journals. Additionally, a candidate should demonstrate willingness to pursue research relevant to the Department of Defense (DoD). Work experience related to the DoD or another government agency is strongly preferred. Fluency in a foreign language, particularly Arabic, French, or Spanish, is valuable but not required.

DRMI faculty travel both internationally and domestically (generally no more than five weeks per year). Faculty need to be based in the Monterey area. DRMI positions are funded on a 12-month model. The target starting date for the candidate is summer of 2018. Multiple positions may be filled with this announcement.

Minimum qualifications:
• A PhD in a relevant discipline,
• Evidence of teaching ability
• Evidence of research ability
• U.S. citizenship
• Eligibility for Secret clearance
