Landcare Research is the New Zealand Crown Research Institute for terrestrial ecosystems, and its team of economists and quantitative social scientists undertakes research pertaining to land use, environmental decision making, biodiversity, ecosystem services, economic behaviour, and climate change in New Zealand and the South Pacific. We are the largest group active in environmental/resource economics in New Zealand and among the largest in Australasia.

We seek to recruit another senior economist with a strong interest in natural resources, the environment, and public policy. Candidates must have a PhD and a track record of applied research focusing on market and/or non-market valuation, including ecosystem services. The successful candidate will join a group of 13 researchers in environmental/agricultural economics and related fields, will contribute to existing research projects, and will develop new research areas in partnership with end users and stakeholders. Experience conducting research with strong implications for policy is desirable.
