The Department of Economics in the School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY seeks a candidate who possesses a record of excellence in teaching and can advance the department’s academic programs. The appointment will be made at the Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, or Professor of Practice level, and will be full time, non tenure track, and renewable at three (3) year intervals. The successful candidate will be required to provide high-quality instruction, student advising, service to the department and the Institute. The position commences on January 1, 2018.

The Department seeks a candidate whose area of interests are consistent with the Department’s current strengths and future areas of growth. These research areas include:
1. Econometrics and Quantitative Methods;
2. Energy Economics;
3. Innovation and Technology;
4. Health Economics; and
5. Applied Microeconomics.

The specific teaching and course assignments will consider candidates' skills and departmental needs. The candidate must have an earned Ph.D. or a foreign degree equivalent in Economics by the time of the appointment, and must be able to provide evidence of teaching effectiveness. To be considered at the Sr. Lecturer level, candidates must meet the minimum qualifications, and possess five (5) years of related experience. To be considered at the Professor-of-Practice level, candidates must also be able to demonstrate unique professional experience, distinguished research and/or served in a leadership role within a related field.
