The post is available from 1 July for 36 months and based at the University of Exeter Streatham campus.

Applications are invited for an environmental economist to work full time as a Postdoctoral Impact Fellow in the Business School at the University of Exeter. The University of Exeter is a Russell Group university in the top 1% of universities in the world with 98% of its research rated as being of international quality.

As part of a large project (SWEEP), the postholder will work with the environmental economics group delivering academic expertise into real world decision contexts. Initially, the focus will be on National Parks, integrating the Natural Capital approach into their accounting and management activities so as to direct future environmental investments. Subsequently, the postholder will work with the regional water company in designing the next generation of innovative Payment for Ecosystem Service schemes.

The successful applicant will be about to complete their PhD (Grade E appointment), or have completed a PhD (Grade F appointment) in economics or a related field and preferably with expertise in non-market valuation and/or mechanism design. They will be able to collaborate effectively within the academic team and with external partners.
