Assistant Professor and Associate Director, Center for Economic and Management Research

Job Details
The Center for Economic and Management Research (CEMR) in the OU Price College of Business, is seeking an economist for an Assistant Professor and Associate Director position. The appointee will be reporting to the Director and Senior Associate Dean for Economic Development and Impact.

Job Description: The primary purpose of this position will be economic research in healthcare, economic development, state economic expenditures and revenues, and education and labor market policy. CEMR serves the general public, economic development specialists and regional officials in provision of state and regional economic information. In line with this the position will conduct applied regional economic development research and maintain and extend regional economic development data. Health care is central to policy concern in Oklahoma. The position also requires significant communication skills.

The candidate is also expected to teach one or two sections of MBA courses per academic year in quantitative methods and managerial economics.

Job Qualifications: Preferred education would be a doctorate or at minimum a Master's degree in economics with accompanying statistics training and professional experience. Some of the fields that would apply are applied economic research; health care economics, econometric and statistical methods; microeconomics, public sector economics; education, labor and demographic economics; economic development, technological change, and growth; natural resource economics; regional and transportation economics.

Candidates must show evidence of teaching experience, interest and success in quality teaching, and recognitions and accomplishments in economics and statistics.

Candidates must have the ability to organize data, create charts and graphs using STATA, Visual Basic and/or Microsoft Excel, must be willing and able to work occasional nights and weekends to meet project deadlines, and must be eligible to work in the US without company sponsorship.
