The economics department at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition (MPI) focuses on issues in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship. Its objective is to investigate the determinants, outcomes and implications of innovation and entrepreneurship processes, as well as their behavioral foundations. The department announces the opening of two positions as Senior Research Fellows.

Applications from candidates with a research focus on entrepreneurship or behavioral economics are particularly welcome. The candidates should hold a Ph.D. in economics or business administration or be close to finishing their Ph.D., and have a strong background either in applied econometrics or in experimental economics. The MPI has its own experimental laboratory. The working language of the department is English.

The department works in close cooperation with researchers from the MPl's legal departments, as well as the Department of Economics and the Munich School of Management at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich.

The term of appointment is initially limited to three years. Salary is based on the Labour Agreement for Public Service (TVöD) depending on qualification and work experience. Social benefits correspond to the rules of the Public Service (Bund).
