The Department of Political Science & Economics invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2017. We are particularly interested in candidates in applied microeconomics areas such as health and public finance. Rowan University is a comprehensive state university with approximately 16,000 students located 20-miles southeast of Philadelphia. Rowan boasts seven colleges and two medical schools. Rowan has been recognized as one of the Top 100 public universities in the nation and is ranked 3rd among public institutions in the North by US News & World Report.
A 3/3 teaching load is guaranteed for the first two years and can be renewed annually with evidence of continuing scholarship. Class size is typically 40 students. The expectation is that an appointee will engage in high-quality research, which results in publications in leading general interest and field journals, be an effective teacher and have the potential to secure external funding.
Candidate must complete their Ph.D. in Economics or related field by August 1, 2017.
