The Water Resources Center (WRC) seeks a Research Associate to develop a nationally recognized and extramurally funded research program on water economics and policy. Relevant research areas include: big data econometric and computational approaches, climate change, land use and land cover change, technology adoption and technical change, agricultural and environmental policy analysis, risk management and decision-making under uncertainty, nonmarket valuation, behavioral economics, or experimental economics. The incumbent will also offer research-based education through outreach efforts and may teach courses in academic departments, subject to departmental needs. The position is annually renewable subject to performance and availability of funding.

Required qualifications are a PhD in agricultural/resource/environmental economics or related field and demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication. Preferred qualifications include experience with grant proposal preparation, data/project management, and interacting with stakeholder audiences.

The WRC is one of 54 entities comprising the National Institutes for Water Resources. As an interdepartmental unit at one of the nation’s largest universities, the WRC has strong working relationships with faculty and experts in many fields of study.
