IFMR was established in 1970, as a first of its kind of institution in Asia with the specific objective of providing research based inputs to industry and to be a source of guidance for policy making to the government and other institutions like banks, State-level Planning Commissions.

We are in the process of setting up within IFMR a School of Social Sciences that will offer MA in Economics, Public Policy and Development Studies. IFMR currently hosts the following research centers: IFMR LEAD, JPAL South Asia and Centre for Digital Financial Inclusion. We are looking for faculty who can spearhead collaborative research with these centers, and also teach relevant courses based on their area of expertise at the School of Social Sciences.

We invite applications in Economics, Public Policy and Development at the assistant/associate professor level. Exceptionally well-qualified applicants at higher levels may also be considered. We are seeking highly qualified candidates who are committed to a career in research and teaching.
